By now, most of you must be aware of the youtube-dl repo on Github being suspended because of a DMCA notice. Team NewPipe member @TheAssassin has written a detailed analysis of the situation. You can find the article on his blog!
Update (2020-11-24): youtube-dl’s repository has been restored, thanks to the EFF. @TheAssassin posted an update, explaining what happened in the meantime, and reviewing the situation again.
